Sewing Workshop

Join us for an engaging and interactive 3-hour workshop designed for beginners who want to explore the art of sewing and crafting. In this hands-on session, participants will learn step-by-step how to create their very own drawstring bag from scratch.

Led by our seasoned instructor, Suanny, this workshop is about fostering connections, building confidence, and acquiring practical sewing skills that will last a lifetime. No prior experience is needed; just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind, and we'll take care of the rest!

Throughout this interactive workshop, you will:

  • Learn the basics of sewing terminology, tools, and techniques.
  • Select and prepare fabric, including cutting and measuring.
  • Stitch the fabric together using a sewing machine or hand stitching.
  • Attach a drawstring closure for functionality and style.
  • Personalize your bag with your unique style and personality.

As we create together, we'll share stories, laughter, and invaluable knowledge. By the end of the workshop, participants will not only leave with a beautiful drawstring bag, ready to carry their essentials or make a thoughtful handmade gift for a loved one, but also with a sense of accomplishment, new friends, and the confidence to tackle new challenges head-on.

Note: We will provide all required equipment, tools, and materials. Feel free to bring any personalized materials or embellishments that you’d like to up-cycle.

This event is free and open to any current Tool Library or TTLMakerspace member.

If you are not yet a member and would like to come enjoy the sewing event, we require a $20 deposit that will be refunded when you arrive.
