PA DAY - Superhero Cosplay Day - Oct 10

Join us for a PA Day full of creative fun at the TTL Makerspace.

With a heavy emphasis on safety, we will empower kids with the skills needed to use our tools and equipment. We will learn to use sewing machines, laser cutters and 3D printers.

The base layer of the outfit needs to be supplied by parents and can consist of a cat suits, matching tops and bottoms or simply what the kids happen to be wearing that day.

Starting with 3D Print, kids will create accents for their unique superhero design! Once the prints are on we learn to sew - and make a cape!

Kids hoping for specific colours can have parents bring in 1 to 2 yards of fabric of their choice. Bedsheets will work, but the Makerspace is also located in the heart of Toronto's textile district - so it should be easy to acquire almost anything you could desire for fabric nearby!

Once we have a cape, we will make a helmet or headgear using foam and our laser cutter.

We will learn CAD modelling and customize our creations using custom cut components of various colours. If we have time kids will be able to make additional components such as gauntlets or belts.

At 3:30 the kids will be presenting their costume, we will have a photo shoot, film videos and have fun!
