Enrolment in Young Worldbuilders requires an Active TTLMakerspace Membership for the parent or guardian of the child.
Ages 12-15
Saturday Mornings - 10am to 1pm - Ongoing
In the young adult group at TTLMakerspace youth learn both technical and traditional skills through an ongoing series of projects they build with the instructor.
Like the young kids program, the emphasis is on hands-on learning and fun. However we take on more technical challenges, and young adults are given encouragement and assistance to work independently and manage their time.
As an example, while young kids will get an introduction to principles of modelling through software like Tinkercad and 3D Printing, our young adults will be introduced into more professional tools like FreeCAD, and learn to operate a CNC mill.
They are encouraged to take on responsible use of power-tools with careful supervision. When taking on technical challenges, they will learn languages like MicroPython rather than code-blocks.
If you would like to visit the space and meet our instructors, we are more than happy for you to come by for a tour.
